Georges Helfer SA France was incorporated
in 1972 and is specialised in importing, storing and distributing
overseas fruits and vegetables.
Rungis site, Paris
The warehouse is located in the warehouse area of the Marché d'Intérêt
National (wholesale trading centre), just a stone's throw away from one
of the largest markets for fruit and vegetable wholesalers in Europe.
From this place we receive goods arriving from the northern ports, ideally
Le Havre -for containers only, Dieppe, Antwerp and Rotterdam, and Paris'
two airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly. The warehouse has a storage capacity
for around 2,200 pallets and it has a refrigerated hall (8°C), 7 cool
rooms which can go down as far as
-1°C, and a ripening room. So each product is stored at the ideal temperature
and in a separate chamber so that incompatible products are never found
together in the same space.

This versatile,
high-performance structure allows us to store all types of products
under the best possible conditions; from the toughest, such as
citrus fruits, to the most fragile, such as pears (which require
a core temperature of -0.5° C). This structure
really comes into its own when there are fluctuations on the
market, because it means that we can then play these markets
with greater flexibility: this is why we are constantly reinvesting
in it.
The Rungis site handles deliveries to our mass retail customers (platforms) and
wholesalers at the various wholesale trading centres located in the northern
half of France. |
