Plan d'Orgon site, Cavaillon
We recently transferred
our southern site from Marseilles to Plan d'Orgon (North of Marseille),
in the middle of the fruits and vegetables golden triangle, to
enable us to expand.
From the Plan d'Orgon warehouse means we receive goods from the Mediterranee
either by boat or by truck. It also acts as a packaging station, designed to
receive kiwi fruit from the King Kiwis operation
in the Landes region (see links). The fruit is graded there and then packaged
before being stored in controlled atmosphere chambers. We also handle all of
the marketing.
There is storage capacity for around 1600 pallets, spread over the refrigerated
hall and 6 cool rooms all equipped with CA - controlled atmosphere - mode. This
storage process can slow the products' breathing down for quite a long time which
in turn means that we can market totally fresh products much later on in the
year and thus extend the season.
From there we deliver the platforms of retailers and wholesalers all over the
southern half of France. We also market our products in Italy and Spain. |
